Thomas Tyman


Thomas Tyman came up through the prestigious Penninghen design school, where it became quickly clear that video was the most suitable path in which to channel his creativity, the perfect outlet of expression for a Generation Y aesthete. After graduating with his first short film in 2004, he was approached to direct two music videos for Moby, and a UKMVA nomination for his music video for C2C paved the way to a career in the medium.Through his work in music video Tyman touched on a range of visual genres – classical and contemporary film, graphic animation and lifestyle documentation, street art and fashion film. 

Treating his work like a laboratory, exploring and testing the waters, he was able to extend his limits further into the unknown with each project. After this period of amusement and experimentation, he’s back to his roots – exquisite, exceptional art direction. His formidable AD skills appealed very clearly to fashion and luxury brands such as Chanel, Hermès, Vuitton, Dior, APC and Weston, all of whom proposed several films collaborations.
